There's no way to skirt around this:

The last few articles have been heavy. I've written about depression, distraction, loneliness, sucking at life, and why I don't pursue happiness, and my posting schedule has been all kinds of screwed up.

And don't get me wrong here, I enjoy exploring my inner demons just as much as the next guy, but Illogical Life is about a lot more than just mental health. It's also about life, philosophy, efficiency, simple living, working, and all of the other things that make up this illogical world we live in. Illogical Life isn't a blog about me; it's a blog about all of us.

To that end, I'm going to be rolling out some website changes, a new article series or two, and even some new multimedia projects. I have a hundred different amazing projects that are going on right now, and you guys (hi Mom!) get to be a part of it.

Our Illogical Life

I want to interview you. All of you. I want to sit down with each and every one of you with a cup of tea and a million questions and explore the different paths we all take to happiness in this strange and crazy world. I want to hear your success stories, your failures, your crazy ideas, and the lessons you've learned along the way. I want to hear the questions that you have, and find out all the ways that life doesn't make sense.

I have no idea how I'm going to run this series in the long-term, but, if you'd like to be a part of it, contact me. I'll probably start out with written interviews (because I'm more a writer than I am anything else at the moment), but there's a fair chance things will morph as time continues. It'll be fun.

These interviews, and all of my other lifestyle-oriented articles, will end up in the 'Living' section of the top navigation.

Let's Be Efficient

As I've thumped on about extensively, I'm a freelancer. Over the last few overworked months I've not had the opportunity to say much about what I've been doing, but I have been taking some pretty extensive notes about what works, what doesn't, and what's fun. I'm in the process of making those notes human-readable, and I'll be sharing some of them with you guys.

I don't have a definite content calendar for this content as of yet, but I will be pulling one together as the 'Working' section there in the top navigation grows. I'll do my absolute best to avoid the generic 'productivity lists' and feel-good garbage that we're already inundated with, but if you have any requests or ideas, please feel free to let me know. Twitter is probably the best place for you to shout at me.

Quick brag: Back in April, Lifehacker picked up my Your Desk is A Drug article. It was awesome. I'm still giggling over it.

I've Always Had A Face For Radio

I spent some time as a college radio host back in Sault Ste. Marie, and I fiddled around with podcasting a bit before Jana and I made the big move. I'm considering giving it another shot, but I still have some brainstorming I need to do before I expose you all to the horrors of my radio voice.

Which means, before I jump into anything as organized and logical as a podcast, I'll be recording a series of audio journals for you. Each one will be 10-15 minutes long, totally casual, and composed primarily of navel-gazing and in jokes that are painfully meta. I'll be talking about my writing process, philosophy, minimalism, cooking, and my neighbor's noisy cat. It'll be interesting.

Thank You.

Illogical Life has been up and running for about eight months now, and it has been an absolutely amazing process. I've had the chance to connect with some wonderful people over the topics of minimalism, simple living, and mental health, and working on this blog has brought me nothing but joy.

I look forward to writing more content for you guys, and I hope you're looking forward to it too.

Cheers.
